AstroThumbs - third-party notices (Linux)
=========================================

AstroThumbs is Copyright (c) 2026 Deep Sky Colors. All rights reserved.

The following third-party components are redistributed in binary form inside
astrothumbs-thumbnailer, astrothumbs-license and astrothumbs-settings. Their
full license texts accompany this file.

zlib
Copyright (c) 1995-2024 Jean-loup Gailly and Mark Adler
  License: zlib license. See zlib.txt.
Used for: decompression of zlib-compressed XISF data blocks, and compression
of the PNG files this build writes. Both directions are compiled in on Linux.
The decoder and the compressor are separate libraries: the compressor is
reached only when writing a thumbnail, never when parsing a file.

LZ4
  Copyright (c) 2011-2020 Yann Collet
  License: BSD 2-Clause. See lz4.txt.
Used for: decompression of lz4 and lz4hc compressed XISF data blocks.
Only the decode path is compiled in.

Zstandard
Copyright (c) Meta Platforms, Inc. and affiliates.
  License: BSD 3-Clause. See zstd.txt.
Used for: decompression of zstd-compressed XISF data blocks.
Only the decode path is compiled in.

TweetNaCl
  Public domain. See tweetnacl.txt.
Used for: Ed25519 signature verification of license keys.
Verification only. The shipped build holds a public key and no private key,
and cannot produce a signature: the randombytes() entry point tweetnacl links
against is a stub that aborts.

No other third-party code is present. In particular AstroThumbs does not link
CFITSIO: the FITS reader is written from scratch, partly so that CFITSIO's
network and shared-memory drivers are not reachable from a program parsing
files of unknown origin.

The optional astrothumbs-settings package links GTK 3, which is not
redistributed here: it is a shared library provided by your distribution and is
declared as an ordinary package dependency.

AstroThumbs contains no network code. It makes no outbound connection of any
kind. The only outbound action in the product is opening a web browser when the
user clicks a link in the settings window.
